SERVICE CHANGES:

Please be aware there are some refuse collection changes over the Christmas and New Year period - check if you are affected at www.boston.gov.uk/ChristmasCollections

Garden Waste Collections

For information on when your garden waste collection day is, please use the following link: Find Your Bin Collection Day or email gardenwaste@boston.gov.uk

Garden waste collections will resume after the Winter Break from the week commencing 17th February 2025 until 30th March 2025 for those who signed up to last years' season. Please be aware that your brown bin collection day will remain the same as it was before the winter break. For further information on when your collection day is, please email gardenwaste@boston.gov.uk

Garden waste subscriptions for the 2024/25 season have now ended.

Sign ups for the 2025/26 season will begin online on Monday 6 January 2025 at 10am.

Grass cuttings, leaves, hedge and shrub trimmings, weeds and plants can all go in the brown bin.

Garden waste must not be bagged, it should be placed loosely into your brown bin. We also do not accept garden waste as side waste alongside your bin.

Top tip: To try prevent grass cuttings from getting stuck at the bottom of the bin you can place a small amount of newspaper in the bottom of your bin as a liner.

Bin charges:

If your original brown bin is damaged and you have received a free replacement bin previously, the cost of replacement will be £42.40 and there will be a £10 delivery charge. If you have not received a free replacement before, your garden waste bin may be replaced free of charge at the discretion of the Garden Waste Team.

If your bin falls into the back of the lorry during collection, please email gardenwaste@boston.gov.uk or contact us on 01205 314200 and we will issue you with a free replacement bin.

If you don't have a large garden, an alternative way to deal with your garden waste is home composting. Click on this link for more information getcomposting.com or you can take your green waste to one of the County Council's Household Waste Recycling Centres.
