Boston Borough Council is seeking an Independent Member to serve on its Audit and Governance Committee
We are looking to appoint an Independent Member for our Audit and Governance Committee.
The Audit and Governance Committee provides assurance of the adequacy of the Council's governance arrangements, particularly the effectiveness of the Council's internal processes and procedures. To support the Committee in its work, the Council is looking for one of two independent non-voting members to sit on the committee alongside elected Councillors.
The role will suit an independently minded person to give an external perspective to the committee. The period of appointment will be up to four years.
The committee will meet approximately five times per year and it is important that potential applicants have a broad understanding of the financial, risk control and corporate governance issues that the Council faces.
