Leisure Centre to celebrate National Fitness Day 2022

Geoff Moulder Leisure Centre also known as Boston Leisure Centre are to throw open its doors on Saturday 24th September to offer free activities for everyone to try as part of National Fitness Day celebrations (official day 21st September).

The leisure centre are offering residents a one day FREE pass to take advantage of their facilities. Maybe you fancy a swim, hitting the gym or trying an exercise class, there is something for everyone to try.  All you have to do is register online beforehand at https://stellar.bostonleisurecentre.co.uk/scuba6/stellar2/start.php or via phone call on 01205 363483 between 8am and 5pm Tuesday to Friday.

National Fitness Day is the UK's most active day of the year - in 2021 more than 22 million people were inspired to be active on the day. This year the campaigns aim is highlight the role physical activity plays across the UK, helping to raise awareness of its importance in assisting people to lead healthier lifestyles through being physically active.

Dan Lewis, event organiser for the leisure centre said: "National Fitness Day gives another great opportunity for everyone to come and visit our centre without it costing them a penny, we have a wide range of activities available from swimming, exercise classes, gym workouts and much more, if you have not visited us before, please make this the day you do."

Cllr Tracey Abbott, Portfolio Holder Leisure Services, said: "Daily, many of us face our own personal challenges, and it's easy to feel subdued by everything going on around us. Fitness is known to bring people together and has a positive impact on our physical, mental and social wellbeing particularly when provided in a community setting.

"That's why this year, National Fitness Day is the perfect reminder for all of us to prioritise our health and wellbeing.

"Our leisure centre can help you to take the first step towards improving your physical and mental health, as well as getting to know new people in your community. On this day, 24th September, take the opportunity to try, with the guidance from our staff who will be on-hand to inspire and support you, whatever your fitness goal."

You will also find health food preparation demonstrations, fitness advice from qualified members of staff, tips from sports massage professionals and much more.
