Boston, East Lindsey and South Holland Councils win national Partnership Award

Boston, East Lindsey and South Holland Councils - the South & East Lincolnshire Councils Partnership (S&ELCP) - beat stiff competition to scoop an award at this year's prestigious Local Government Chronicle (LGC) Awards.

The LGC Awards celebration is an annual event where councils from across the country come together to celebrate the very best in local government.

This year's awards had the largest number of entries and among the winners was Boston, East Lindsey and South Holland Councils for the formation and early success of the South & East Lincolnshire Councils Partnership.  The Councils won the award in the Public/Public category.

The judging panel was impressed by the Partnership's ability to "demonstrate tangible improvements to local communities with a clearly articulated ambition for the future, despite being a relatively new partnership".

The Partnership Councils were also acknowledged for their significant work in bringing the three councils to work together cohesively in a such short amount of time.

In joint statement from the three Council Leaders, Councillor Paul Skinner Leader of Boston Borough Council, Councillor Craig Leyland, Leader of East Lindsey District Council, and Councillor Gary Porter, Leader of South Holland District Council said: "Our Councils are delighted and honoured to receive this award. This recognises the value in our three councils coming together to improve resident's lives.

"We are extremely pleased that the collective efforts of elected members and officers have been recognised for its achievements to date. We are, of course, ambitious for the future and look forward to the challenges ahead.

"The Partnership remains young, with much more needing to be done to embed and accelerate our journey. We thank our officer team who work tirelessly to deliver our vision and policies for the people of South and East Lincolnshire".
