Making a Difference Case Study - Anne Bourne

Organisation/Group:

Lincolnshire Road Victims Memorial Charity - Louise and Sarah Memorial Fund

Why You Got Involved?

Following the tragic road traffic crash in 2004 when our beautiful daughter Louise, niece Sarah and their friend, were all killed, I decided to fund raise in earnest. Raising many thousands of pounds for the local Hospital, Butterfly Hospice and Road Peace (UK). In 2016 we received charity status as the above organisation.

What Impact/Difference is it Making to the Community?

After becoming a charity, the Louise and Sarah Memorial Fund committee were granted the use of Lime Avenue, in Westgate Woods, Boston and again with hard work and commitment raised sufficient funds to erect a wet oak shelter, where relatives and friends can sit on our wooden bench seats, to reflect and remember loved ones lost on the roads of Lincolnshire.

How Would You Encourage Other to Get Involved in Their Community?

By Hard work, dedication and commitment, if you have a goal it can be achieved.
