Putting Arts and Heritage at the Heart of Regeneration
We are an Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisation!
What does this mean?
- Arts Council England invest public money in nearly a thousand arts and cultural organisations through their National Portfolio. These organisations deliver Arts Council England Lets Create Strategy aims and objectives on a localised level.
- The Partnership has been allocated NPO funding of £1,955,799 for 2023-2026
- The funding was awarded to the Partnership to deliver an ambitious project which uses culture to strengthen area's heritage.
South & East Lincolnshire Councils Partnership has been successful in obtaining Arts Council England funding for a three-year National Portfolio project that puts culture at the heart of celebrating our heritage and local stories, to create a strong sense of place, increase our visitor offer and to upskill and engage our communities.
Our project focuses on developing three creative hub sites; Boston Guildhall, Ayscoughfee Hall and Gardens and the soon to be built Sutton-on-Sea Colonnade. These sites will be an epicentre for activity, to encourage new audiences to access the significant stories of our areas.
Our programme links together the three council areas through succinct heritage themes, but will also respond to the local distinctiveness and community needs/wants in each area.
A key aim of our project is to continue engagement with our core audience but to reach out to new audiences and particularly to engage with young people, marginalised and underrepresented groups. Our goal is to provide opportunities for people to work with us on co-creation projects and develop their skills, ideas and ultimately share their stories in creative ways.
Our overall aim is to become an exemplar hub for regional cultural development, with the inclusion of heritage within arts and culture.
The Partnership has its own Cultural Framework, covering Boston Borough, East Lindsey and South Holland. This can be viewed here: SELCP Cultural Framework (PDF, 942 KB)(opens new window)
