Energy Switch

The Lincolnshire Energy Switch can give you the chance to save on your annual gas and electricity bill.

Boston Borough Council was a partner in the Lincolnshire Energy Switch scheme, an initiative to help people save money on their energy bills by negotiating better deals for gas and electricity. Our contract with iChoosr who ran the Lincolnshire Energy Switch on behalf of Lincolnshire local authorities has ended. If residents wish to use the switching service they can register directly with iChoosr using the link below, but please be aware that Boston Borough Council cannot provide support. You can contact iChoosr direct on 0800 048 8285 if you have any queries.

How the Energy Switch works

The idea is that rather than switching your provider as an individual, residents use their combined buying power across our community to negotiate cheaper prices with energy companies.

Those people who rarely switch or have never switched tend to see the biggest savings with previous Lincolnshire schemes helping people save an average of £200 on their bills.

Residents register their interest in the scheme to look for a cheaper energy tariff. All you need is your latest energy bill and contact details. It is free to register and there is no obligation to switch.

At the end of the registration period an auction will be held with energy providers to find out which one will provide the best price to supply energy to the households that have registered.

You will be sent a personal offer - it is up to you whether you accept it and choose to switch or not.

The more people who register the bigger the potential savings for everyone.

Up to 5 households can register using one email address.  Residents from outside the Borough can also join the switch.

You can register online at the Community Switch website.

Don't use gas for heating?

If you use heating oil, have you considered joining a bulk oil buying scheme? For further information visit the Community Lincs bulk oil buying scheme website.
