COUNCIL TAX BILLING

Please check your bill for your instalment dates and amounts. The first instalment for the new year will be due on 1st April (unless you pay by Direct Debit on 4th, 12th, 20th or 28th of the month). We anticipate our phone lines will be busy over the next few weeks. Phone lines will be extended Monday to Thursday until 7pm between March 17 and 27. Phone lines are open until 4.45pm on March 21 and 28.

Empty Property Owned by a Charity

If you are a registered charity that owns an unoccupied property, you may be exempt from Council Tax.

The exemption applies for a maximum period of six months. This depends on the date the furnished or unfurnished property became unoccupied.

The previous occupier of the property must fit the aims of the charity; please provide a list of the charity's objectives to verify this. If you believe your charity is eligible then please read and complete our Class B Application Form (PDF, 584 KB). Please return the form by email: revs@boston.gov.uk or by post.

Change in Circumstances

If you qualify for a Council Tax discount you must tell us within 21 days if there is a change that might affect it. We can impose a £70 penalty if you do not tell us about a change. Keep us informed of changes on revs@boston.gov.uk or by calling 01205 314200.
