Boston businesses encouraged to join festive spirit with Winter Window competition

Boston Borough Council has announced details of this year's Winter Window competition, encouraging local shops and businesses across the Borough to take and part and get involved in the festive spirit together.

The annual contest, which puts the spotlight on the businesses with the best Christmas/Winter-themed window displays and shopfronts, is open until midnight on Sunday 4 December. There are separate categories for small, medium and large businesses and shops, as well as for food outlets and charities.

Once all entries have been received a public vote will take places on the Council's social media channels to create a shortlist of businesses, with the winners then being chosen by a judging panel later that week.

To take part, all businesses need to do is email through pictures of their displays to xmaswindow@boston.gov.uk with the name and address of their organisation.

Councillor Paul Skinner, Leader of Boston Borough Council, said: "I'm delighted that we are able to hold the Winter Window competition again, after we saw a fantastic response of local shops and businesses getting involved and submitting their entries last year.

"The festive shopping period is such an important time for many of our businesses, and I hope this will be a great opportunity to turn their premises into a real spectacle and turn the town centre and the rest of the Borough into a vibrant celebration of all things Christmas."
