Vote for Britain's Favourite Market for 2023 - Boston Market
Boston Market has joined a campaign to become Britain's Favourite Market. In 2020 they were in the top 10 of the poll, can you help them get up there again?
NABMA (National Association of British Market Authorities) is asking people across the UK to vote for their market of the year for 2020.
Councillor Tracey Abbott, Portfolio Holder for Markets, said: "I'm not surprised previously we reached the top 10, but this year we want to come out at the top. Please support your local Market and traders by placing those votes to see us named Britain's Favourite Market.
"The lead up of Christmas is a great time for our market town. Why not head down to your local market and experience the festive atmosphere, enjoy some tasty treats and find perfect gift ideas?"
In addition to our normal market opening hours, there are also special festive markets taking place.
Thursday 24th November at 12noon there will be a Christmas Market in the Market Place which will consist of Christmas-themed market stalls, food stalls and small children's rides available for people to browse at their leisure through until 8pm. There will be outdoor entertainment with a street organist, singers, performers, elves, snow globe, stilt walkers and more.
From 4pm onwards there will be street and pop-up entertainment throughout the town with Transported Arts undertaking the 'Illuminate Parade' on the theme of 'ПУЧЕФСЧБН' - Bulgarian for Illuminate from 5.30pm, and in the form of trails around the town centre throughout the duration of the event.
In addition St Botolph's Church will also be bringing you some indoor festive entertainment from 12noon with Christmas music and song extravaganza, Christmas arts and crafts, Christmas trails, Christmas selfie photo opportunities, fun giant games and a face painter, with the return of the ever popular Reindeer located outside on the Church grounds from 4pm until 8pm.
On Sunday 11 December, 10am to 3pm we have our Festive Market, consisting of market stalls in the Market Place accompanied by children's fun fair, Christmas-themed stalls and food venders, with entertainment including face painting, stilt walkers and performers and the Annual Boston Santa Fun Run.
David Preston, Chief Executive of NABMA, said: "We are thrilled to be launching the Great British Market Awards. The award for Britain's Favourite Market always attracts thousands of votes, so it's a great way to keep your customers talking about their favourite market.
"We look forward to a busy voting session over the coming weeks. I would like to wish every market 'Good Luck'."
