Neighbourhood Planning

Residents can help shape the development and growth of their local area through the production of a Neighbourhood Development Plan, Neighbourhood Development Order or Community Right to Build Order.

Neighbourhood Development Plans

Neighbourhood Development Plans will become part of the local statutory development plan and will form the basis for determining planning applications in that area. To help you we have created a Neighbourhood Development Plan FAQ page to help answer any questions you may have.

You can apply online using the Neighbourhood Planning Application Form.

Neighbourhood Development Orders

A Neighbourhood Development Order enables the community to grant planning permission for the development it wishes to see. To help you we have created a Neighbourhood Development Order FAQ page to help answer any questions you may have.

Community Right to Build Orders

A Community Right to Build Order is a special type of Neighbourhood Development Order. To help you we have created a Community Right to Build FAQ page to help answer any questions you may have.
