Publication Scheme

Under Section 8(2) of the Local Audit and Accountability Act 2014, the Council must publish a notice relating to the appointment of its auditor.

In July 2016 Public Sector Audit Appointments (PSAA) was selected by the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government to take on the role of 'Appointing Person' for principal local government and police bodies. Boston Borough Council took the decision to opt into the appointing person arrangements made by PSAA for the appointment of external auditors.

Under Regulation 13 of the Local Audit (Appointing Person) Regulation 2015, an appointment has been made by PSAA which was approved by the PSAA Board in December 2017.

Pursuant to this process, Mazars LLP have been appointed as the external auditors to Boston Borough Council for the period 2018/19 to 2022/23.
