Mental Health

Information and links relating to Mental Health

The most common mental health problems include addictions, anxiety, depression (including bi-polar disorder) and eating disorders such as anorexia and bulimia. Often these are a reaction to a difficult life event, for example moving house, bereavement or problems at work.

Some simple ideas to boost your mood include:-

  • Express yourself artistically;
  • Take more exercise - a brisk walk can be particularly effective;
  • Try relaxation techniques such as yoga and meditation;
  • Improve your time management;
  • Try to change the way you think and do something positive.

Lincolnshire Talking Therapies

Many people experience common mental health problems at some point in their lives. Life-changing events or even everyday life stress, can lead to difficulties. You may need to seek help and support. Common mental health problems such as mild depression, anxiety, stress, panic, eating problems and loss of sleep, make it difficult for us to cope.

It is estimated that one in four people will suffer from conditions such as anxiety and depression in their lives.

Is Lincolnshire Talking Therapies for me?

At times, it is completely normal to feel anxious, low, sad, overwhelmed and frustrated. For some people, these feelings can persist and have a negative impact on their life. This can lead to a common mental health problem such as depression or anxiety.

If you feel that you may be experiencing a common mental health problem, it is important to seek the right help.

All of their therapies are recommended by National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE). NICE recommends that therapy services should provide the least intrusive and most effective intervention first. Lincolnshire Talking Therapies works to a stepped care model.
