Havenside Country Park and Local Nature Reserve

Havenside Country Park and Local Nature Reserve is a great place to experience Lincolnshire's wildlife. Located within the park is the Pilgrim Fathers' Memorial, marking the place formerly known as Scotia Creek. Access to the site, which includes a car park and picnic area, is via the sea bank path from the main entrance near METSA, off Fishtoft Road. Alternatively it can be accessed by car via Fishtoft village: follow the brown tourist signs to the Pilgrim Fathers' Memorial.

Witham Way Country Park

Witham Way Country Park is a haven for local wildlife with a mosaic of woodland, grassland and scrub. A wildflower meadow attracts bees and other pollen gatherers, and habitats created on site including a bug park are attracting butterflies and other invertebrates. Bird boxes are providing the perfect nesting sites for owls taking advantage of the natural food on offer along the river bank.  Trim trails, chin-up bars, balance beams, monkey bars and more are also available.

The Wash

The Wash, shared between Lincolnshire and Norfolk, is one of the UK's most important estuaries providing a winter feeding ground for over 300,000 visiting water birds. Measuring approximately 20 km wide and 30 km long, The Wash opens into the North Sea with the rivers Steeping, Witham, Welland, Nene and Great Ouse flowing into it.
