What is housing benefit?

Discretionary housing payments allow us to make additional payments to people who receive housing benefit or the Housing Element of Universal Credit who appear to need further help.

All changes of circumstances must be reported immediately to the revenues and benefits office. It is now a criminal offence not to report a change.

An overpayment is when you have been paid benefit when you were not entitled to it.
