SERVICE CHANGES:

Please be aware there are some refuse collection changes over the Christmas and New Year period - check if you are affected at www.boston.gov.uk/ChristmasCollections

I have received a reminder, what does this mean?

If you receive a reminder, this is because our records show you have not made your monthly payment as shown on your council tax bill, or you have paid late or not paid the full amount.

If you have forgotten to pay, you can Pay Online. If you need to make an arrangement, you can call us on 01205 314200, select Council Tax and hold to speak with an advisor.

First Reminder
If you miss your Council Tax instalment, we will send you a reminder giving you seven days to bring your account up to date. If you do this, we will take no further action.

If you do not pay the amount shown on the reminder within seven days, we will ask the magistrates' court to issue a summons. Costs will be added to your account.

Second Reminder
If you pay the first reminder within seven days, but you then miss another instalment later in the year, we will send a second reminder. This will be the last reminder we send.

If you do not pay the amount shown on the reminder within seven days of issue, we will ask the magistrates' court to issue a summons. Costs will be added to your account.

If you pay the second reminder within seven days, but you then miss another instalment later in the year, you will lose the right to pay by instalments and you will be sent a final notice  .
