Parish councillors' declaration of interests

Disclosable pecuniary interests and local choice interests declared by the parish councillors within the borough of Boston can be viewed by clicking on the links on the left hand side.

Every elected or co-opted parish councillor is required to notify the Monitoring Officer (within 28 days of being elected or co-opted onto the authority) of all current 'disclosable pecuniary interests' of which they are aware, and update the register within 28 days of being re-elected or re-appointed. The Secretary of State has issued Regulations setting out what constitutes a 'disclosable pecuniary interest' and guidance is contained in the pdf file below.

In addition, parish councillors have a 'local choice' scheme for the declaration of details of any body of which they are a member or in a position of general control or management either: (1) exercising functions of a public nature; or (2) directed to charitable purposes; or (3) one of whose principal purposes includes the influence of public opinion or policy (including any political party or trade union)
