A beautiful detached property at Kirton was the overall winner in this year's Boston Borough Council building excellence awards.

Manor Farm, Manor Road, Kirton, was designed by Tulip Design in traditional country house style for Mr and Mrs Tunnard.

The annual awards evening was held on Wednesday, March 28, in the Assembly Rooms.

More than 100 guests attended, significantly more than the last two years.

Paul Smith, Boston Borough Council's Principal Building Control Surveyor, announced the nominations, finalists and winners of the categories.

They were:

Best two-storey domestic extension - 77 London Road, Kirton, Roger William (architect/agent), Dave Bristow (developer/builder);

Best single-storey domestic extension - Rowan House, Thornimans Lane, Terry Sykes (agent), Paul and David Cridland and M.G. Dales Joinery (developer/builder);

Best one-off dwelling - Manor Farm, Manor Road, Kirton, Tulip Design;

Best housing development - The Quays, Whitehorse Lane, Boston, Chestnut Homes;

Best domestic conversion - Lintons Farm, Scrane End, Freiston, Dave Bradley (agent), Darren Epton (developer/builder);

Best commercial building - Rolec Services, Ralphs Lane, Frampton, H.H. Adkins (agent, developer/builder);

Best community/educational building - Mayfields, Broadfield Lane, Boston, Mr Gowler/Design Partnership (agent), Lovell Partnership (developer/builder);

Best LABC partnership with an agent - Dave Bradley.

The council thanks sponsors Turnbull builders' merchants of Hamilton Way and Boston Trade Park - Managing Director Gary Hopkins, Heavyside Sales Manager Paul Roberts and Marketing Manager David Middleton.

Also in attendance were Cllrs Peter Bedford, leader of Boston Borough Council, Cllr Stephen Woodliffe, portfolio holder for building control and joint deputy leaders Cllrs Michael Brookes and Cllr Raymond Singleton-Mcguire.
