Pre-application advice

The council welcomes and encourages discussion before those proposing development submit an application for planning permission.

Do you need planning permission?

The Planning Portal provides useful information and advice in relation to the Planning system, including interactive guides regarding common domestic projects and the need for Planning Permission.

For advice regarding alterations and extensions to a dwelling, please complete the relevant sections of our Householder Enquiry Form (see link below) and return it to us. Planning and Building Control will then assess your proposals and advise whether Planning Permission and/or Building Regulations are required.

Pre-application Advice

The Council welcomes and encourages discussion before those proposing development submit an application for planning permission.

The Pre-application Advice Protocol is similar to the service provided by other Lincolnshire districts that have also recently begun charging for pre-application advice.

The Council can provide a very general level of advice regarding proposals without the need to pay a fee. The Planning Information Officer is the first point of contact for such discussions (Tel; 01205 314305).

To view the Pre-application advice protocol and form please see the links below.
