Apply for affordable homes - Boston Homechoice

The Council does not have any housing stock but does manage the Housing Register.

The Council works in partnership with Registered Providers in the provision of affordable housing in the borough.

Applying for Housing in Boston

The application (registration) form is available directly from the Council or can be found in related documents below.

Our partners who have housing stock in the Borough are:

There are few restrictions on joining the housing register, although the banding system used gives varying degrees of priority depending on your housing circumstances. Details of bands and information on the Choice Based Lettings can be accessed by clicking on the 'Choice Based Lettings Guide' in related documents below.

A full copy of the Boston Choice Based Lettings Policy is also available below. Please note that where the Policy refers to Homebuy on page 5, this was replaced by Help To Buy Midlands in April 2014.

Once accepted on to the register  applicants (known as members) will be issued with a card which details the membership number. It is important that members notify the Council of any change in circumstances as this may affect your application. A change of circumstances form can be found in Related documents below. You must complete the form and sign it before sending it to the Housing Needs team. You may need to provide proof of the changes.

The partnership operates the Choice Based Lettings Scheme known as Boston Homechoice. Available properties are advertised on a weekly basis on the Boston Homechoice website and a paper verison of the property magazine available from the Council and Boston Mayflower offices or by a 13 week subscription to Boston Mayflower at a cost of £5. You can also view the magazine online, see Related articles.

Applicants may choose to place bids on as many properties as they are eligible for in each cycle direct to the Council or Boston Mayflower in the following ways:

Please note bidding opens on Saturday and closes at 10 am each Friday.
