In 2010/11 drugs were responsible for 1,784 deaths in England and Wales, destroying thousands of relationships, families and careers.
Currently the most commonly used drugs in the UK are:-
- Powder cocaine
- Amyl nitrate.
If you need help to talk about drugs with your child or have a drug problem, there is a lot of support and help available. A good place to start is to visit your family doctor. Alternatively, you can ring the FRANK helpline on 0800 776600 for more information about drugs and the different options available. The confidential helpline is open every day, 24 hours a day. Calls are free from land lines and some mobiles. A free copy of the Parent's Guide to Drugs is also available by calling FRANK.
