Play area improvements

Spending more than £40,000 on play area improvements in Boston has been approved by the borough council's Cabinet.

The improvements will be to areas within BTAC (Boston Town Area Committee), but exceed the committee's  £10,000  spending limit. The budget had already been allocated.

Improvements relating to outdoor gym equipment and trim trails for Burgess Pit and St John's Park and play area signage for all BTAC play areas were requested following a tour of sites by BTAC members.

BTAC member and portfolio holder for the town centre, Cllr Nigel Welton, praised the way that Cllr Martin Griggs, housing and communities portfolio holder, had driven the project and the value for money achieved thanks to huge discounts successfully negotiated from suppliers by Cllr Griggs and officers.
