Garden waste collections 2019/20

Love gardening but dislike the time, mess and cost of taking the waste to the tip?

The fast, clean and cost effective alternative is a subscription to Boston Borough Council's efficient garden waste collection service and you could also be in with a chance of getting your garden waste taken away FOR FREE this coming growing season.

The council is keeping the charge for collection, with no increase in 2019 - at £30 for emptying a single bin plus £15 for emptying each additional bin. For those new to the service, or those requiring extra bins, there will be a one-off charge of £25 to buy each bin plus the service charge. The payment lines for the 2019/20 season will be opening on Friday, February 1 for those wishing to pay online by Direct Debit or card payment. Other payment methods including cash and telephone payments will be open from Monday, February 11.

If you paid by Direct Debit last year and this payment is still active, you do not need to do anything, we will contact you shortly.

New and existing Direct Debit customers will have the chance of entering a prize draw competition where 10 lucky people will be in with the chance of winning the Season 4 service for FREE as long as you sign up before 1 April 2019. The incentive was previously introduced to encourage more to use the easiest, quickest and most economic way for the council to register those who want to take advantage of the service for the coming growing season. Please note this offer is not open to Boston Borough Council employees or elected members.

For those who signed up in 2018 the service will resume week commencing Monday, February 25, and run to the end of March, 2019.

Cllr David Brown, the council's portfolio holder for waste services, said: "Once again we are providing an excellent service for householders to dispose of their garden waste, easily, cheaply and effectively.

"This service is a well-established service and I want to thank everyone who has used it this last year.

"While anyone can still take their own garden waste to the Household Waste Recycling Centre at Bittern Way for no charge, the council's collection service means residents do not have to move dirty waste in their own vehicles or pay someone else to do it for away for them."
