Join the events team and share in the fun
2018 was a great year for community events in Boston. There was a full programme of activities - most of them free and something for everyone of all ages and abilities.
Many that were successful will be repeated in 2019 by Boston Borough Council, Boston Town Area Committee (BTAC), Boston Big Local and other partners.
You can look forward to the return of a Celebration of Farming, the 1940s event, Viking Village, Sausage and Beer Festival, Central Park beach days, the Get Cycling Roadshow, Teddy Bears' Picnic, outdoor cinema, craft days and much more.
And you could be a part of the team which puts on the events. BTAC wants to hear from any volunteers keen to join the working group to help plan the fun family programme and assist at the events.
Cllr Nigel Welton, Boston Borough Council's portfolio holder for the town centre, said: "The BTAC events group helped organise some of the biggest and most popular events this year and the volunteers thoroughly enjoyed the part they played in the successes we had."
Cllr Sue Ransome, chairman of BTAC, added: "This will appeal to residents who are positive about Boston and want to help us make life better for all who live here. These events lift spirits, raise a smile and add to the fun factor and the reward for those who help out is knowing they have made a good time for all ages."
