Boston market trader of the month
A new feature introducing a different stall holder each month
Steve Antoniou knows a thing or two about hosiery - he has been a market trader for 25 years and socks are his stock in trade... and gloves and hats.
He is a regular on Boston market every Wednesday and Saturday, and also stands on Horncastle and Stamford markets.
He is half Cypriot, half English and he began working in the family restaurant in Skegness before going into retail and becoming a market trader, specialising in hosiery. He also sells blankets and storage boxes. If the frost nips at your digits at this time of year Steve has gloves for sale for as little as £1.50.
Off duty he supports Manchester Utd, getting to as many games as he can manage, and likes a good plate of chilli.
He said: "All markets have suffered a dip, but Boston's is still a good market and I'll keep on coming."
Visit Boston Market every Saturday and Wednesday in the Market Place, with additional stalls in Bargate Green every Wednesday including the Auction.
