New gym gets given approval
Geoff Moulder Leisure Complex is pleased to announce that the new gym area has officially been given the approval from portfolio holder for leisure, Cllr Claire Rylott.
The gym offers a comprehensive range of the most up to date resistance and cardiovascular gym equipment and with fully qualified staff on hand to help members achieve the most from each and every visit, this gym will appeal to anyone with health and fitness goals.
Cllr Rylott visited the newly refurbished gym, reception area and relax area today and was highly impressed with the new look. She said: "The gym is equipped for a great workout. The atmosphere and amenities are upscale, the gym is inviting and unintimidating - and, it brings a much-needed service to the community. It is accessible, affordable and a great place for the community to get to know each other."
Dave Horry, leisure complex manager, said: "We are trying to help create healthier lifestyles, driven by a passion to educate individuals about health and well-being, our gym will help energise the community."
Alison Haigh, gym member, said: "The gym is much better now, it is more spacious and there is much more of a variety of equipment. The new machine, the stair master is a bit of a challenge but I will get better and I still have to try out the powerless treadmill, maybe tomorrow.
"I also bring a friend with me sometimes who has a guide dog with her at all times and it is suitable for her to use too."
Kevin Hudson, gym member, said: "I think it is lovely here, money well spent. It looks more like a gym and the weight room is lovely now."
We also have a structured fitness class timetable, and a relaxation area that also leads to the main leisure pool so if you fancy a couple of lengths - the choice is yours.
The health and fitness areas are for persons 16 years and over.
