Beat the thieves: Free cycle microchip worth £6.50 this Friday

Protect your bike from thieves by getting a free police microchip worth £6.50 at this Friday's Get Cycling Roadshow in Boston Market Place from 10am to 3pm.

The first 30 to arrive with their bikes will get the free microchipping service - an aid to dissuading thieves who might otherwise target your bike. There will also be a free cycle clinic for maintenance and minor repairs.

Remember the bizarre seven-seater megabike which messed with riders' minds, or you may more fondly remember the fun you had in the KMX Karts - pedalling the racing course like fury?

Well, they're back again at the Boston Big Local and Boston Borough Council event which is free and provides the opportunity to try out a variety of unusual and conventional bikes and trikes.

Members of Boston Wheelers, the town's largest and oldest cycling club, will be on hand to encourage local youngsters to take up junior cycling.

Richard Tory, chairman of Boston Big Local, said: "Boston Cycling Roadshow has quickly established itself as a popular family event, and we're delighted to be the main sponsor again. We hope that while visitors are at the Roadshow they will pop and see us to tell us about their priorities for the town."
