Welcome archway for Boston
Students from four Boston schools completed their own consultation as part of a Market Place modernisation programme on the town facilities with their suggestions being compiled into a report and taken to the Overview and Scrutiny Committee on Tuesday.
One of their ideas was for an investigation into the possibility of looking into a welcome archway at the entrance of the Market Place from Straight Bargate with a report being returned once investigations are complete.
Two members of the committee spoke against the idea. The remaining committee approved the recommendation and to take this along with six more recommendations before Cabinet on Wednesday, September 5, 2018.
The committee recognised and agree the importance of the contribution of the four schools within the consultation process and the quality of their reporting.
Chair of scrutiny, Cllr Judith Skinner said: "Myself and other members of the Task and Finish group highly valued the input from the schools and I am extremely disappointed at the other members of the group that made negative comment."
