There were vintage engines to watch running, re-enactments all giving history on their individual groups, 1940's Hairdresser, fantastic displays of 1940's memorabilia.
People took to social media to express positive views about the event, Victoria Clark posted: We really enjoyed it & look forward to taking part next year and Jason Tomlinson: Had a great time today at Boston's 1940s Day.
Fran Taylor, from the events team said: "The weather stayed dry, the crowds gathered and the community came together to enjoy an amazing day. Children were able to ride on the vintage fair and many enjoyed making the vintage art and crafts. Visits to the tea parlours and bar area were popular as was purchasing goods from several retro stalls. It is hoped that the event will expand year on year. This year the event added entertainment in the Market Place on the Saturday and ideas are already being discussed what could be added next year. It was wonderful to see the whole community come together, enjoying each other's company and making new friends whilst enjoying the event. Members from the funders Boston Big Local and Boston Town Area Committee attended the event and were extremely happy with what they witnessed."
