Students' Japanese friends named

The scenes may not have had quite the drama of the live partner announcements for TV's Strictly Come Dancing, but the next Boston and Hakusan exchange event suddenly became real when students found out who their Japanese pairings will be.

The Hakusan City Exchange takes place when the students from Japan arrive in Boston on July 17. Now that the students know who their partners will be they can begin to communicate by email ahead of arrival.

Fundraising continues apace. Isobel Fearn is pictured receiving a welcome donation of £50 from Donington Fire Station Officer John Scott and members of his crew, following an Easter raffle at Vanity Fayre Hair Salon.

The Boot Fair held at Boston College on Skirbeck Road on April 22 raised more than £400 and was a great success as the car boot season gets underway.
