Easter egg hunt at Willoughby Road Alloments
Members of the Willoughby Road Allotment Association are encouraging youngsters to join them on Sunday, April 8, 2018, as they host their first Easter egg hunt.
The event, organised by committee members, is aimed at showing children the excitement and fun of home grown produce, whilst searching for the hidden Easter eggs.
Speaking of the event, organisers and committee members, Katie Epton and Gerry Ladds said: "With Easter fast approaching, we thought it would be great to entice the younger generation to join us on our allotments and develop their knowledge of hand grown produce, whilst enjoying the Easter themed activities on offer."
Committee chairman, Paul Collingwood said: "The Easter egg hunt is looking to be a fantastic event, and, being so close to town, we hope that families will join us for the duration. A wide range of activities are being organised, with various allotment plots being opened, the chance to meet some of our hard working allotmenteers, plus the opportunity to view our brand new, state-of-the-art facilities and the chance to take home some of our produce, grown on site."
Along with a prize Easter egg hunt, the event will also feature colouring activities, refreshments, and more. Held on the Willoughby Road Allotments site, it will take place on Sunday between 11am and 1pm. Entry and participation is on a donation basis, however, organisers advise anyone wishing to attend to consider the weather and dress appropriately for outdoor activities.
