Candidates for by-election

Candidates are lining up for a Boston Borough Council by-election following the resignation of Old Leake and Wrangle councillor Maureen Dennis.

Voting will take place on Thursday, February 22.

The deadline for nominations has now passed and they are: Tom Ashton (Conservative), Joseph Pearson (Labour), Don Ransome (UKIP) and Richard Thornalley (Blue Revolution).

The last time for people wishing to register to vote is Tuesday, February 6, however if they have not moved house since October, 2017, they should already be on the electoral register for the Old Leake and Wrangle area, so won't need to re-register.

Residents already registered should receive a poll card or postal poll card by January 31.  Anyone who doesn't receive a poll card and wishes to check if they are registered should contact the Elections Office on 01205 314220 / 314221 or via email to Elreg@boston.gov.uk  Registering to vote is quick and easy at www.gov.uk/registertovote

The deadline for postal vote applications is Wednesday, February 7, at 5 pm and for proxy voting applications it is Wednesday, February 14, at 5 p.m.
