Expert advice on offer in Trustees Week

Trustees' Week takes place November 13 to November 17, 2017. It is an annual event to showcase the great work that trustees do and highlight opportunities for people from all walks of life to get involved and make a difference.

Trustees are the people in charge of a charity. They help to make the UK the sixth most giving country in the world. They play a vital role, volunteering their time and working together to make important decisions about the charity's work.

During the week, voluntary sector forums are being held for anyone who manages a charity and / or community group and / or sits on a committee board.

Lincolnshire Community and Voluntary Service (LCVS) Voluntary Sector Forums will include information on the legal obligations within new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) which applies in the UK from May next year.

Ruth Copleston, LCVS senior operations officer, said: "The forums are a place to share best practice and the latest news and to meet others doing similar things.

"They also offer an opportunity to consider and explore whether your charity or community group is complying with new regulations."

The Boston and East Lindsey Voluntary Sector Forum takes place at: New Life Centre, Church Street, Spilsby, on Thursday, November 16, 1pm to 3.30pm. Places must be booked in advance via www.lincolnshirecvs.org.uk
