What new events would you like to see?

Residents are the best when it comes to knowing what community events for the borough are wanted.

That's why councillors are hoping to tap into that local knowledge and are inviting members of the public to join them in making plans for more community events.

No expertise is required - just a willingness to come along with ideas.

Boston Town Area Committee (BTAC - the town's parish council) wants to hear from volunteers prepared to help generate community event ideas.

All suggestions, large and small will be welcome, especially those which could develop into popular annual events.

Anyone interested in helping generate new events should contact Janette Collier on 01205 314 227 or email janette.collier@boston.gov.uk

Cllr Nigel Welton, chairman of BTAC, said: "It's great that residents are always keen to make suggestions about events which work for them. I hope that they come forward to work with us. We are a friendly bunch, always prepared to listen to any suggestions, and sincere when we say we really want the public to take the lead on this. I'm hoping they will put forward ideas that we can then help turn into realities."

Information about holding an event and events already planned can be found at http://bit.ly/2qF3k59 and at the new website www.visitbostonuk.com

These include a summer-long diary of free family entertainment in the Market Place and Central Park.
