Health expert sought

A health professional is being sought to help with responses to key issues affecting NHS services in the Boston area.

A special task group of councillors has been set up to look into proposed reforms outlined in the Lincolnshire Sustainability and Transformation Plan - a five-year health and care plan for the whole of Lincolnshire. The review will concentrate on the proposed urgent care centre at the Pilgrim Hospital's accident and emergency unit, maternity, neonatal and paediatric services, strokes, mental health and breast care.

The group wants to co-opt a health professional on a voluntary basis to assist with its work. It may not be necessary for this person to attend every meeting. Clinical experience in one or more of the above services is preferred.

The group will also be focusing its attention on the broader issues of accessibility and transport and the future of the Pilgrim Hospital.

The review is expected to take up to eight months and anyone interested in being considered should contact Ian Farmer on 01205 314 225 or email ian.farmer@boston.gov.uk
