Boston Playgoers to hold open day for new members
Award winning Boston Playgoers Society is holding an Open Day at Blackfriars Theatre for anyone who might be interested in joining their amateur dramatics group.
The Open Day will showcase their extensive history as well as provide opportunities to have a go at lots of different aspects of stagecraft, including taking part in play readings, set building and technical theatre. Anyone who signs up for their email mailing list on the day will also be entered into a draw to win a pair of tickets for their next production in October.
Boston Playgoers Society was founded in 1928. The society puts on two productions a year at Blackfriars Theatre and these range from comedies to more serious classics. Boston Playgoers have enjoyed much success on both a regional and a national level, winning Best Regional Play numerous times at the East Midlands NODA Awards - and they are nominated again this year for their recent production of Blood Brothers at Blackfriars late last year. In 2013, Boston Playgoers came second in the national British All Winners Drama Festival, following winning seven awards at the Skegness Play Festival.
However, they are always on the lookout for new members - both on stage or off - so if you're interested in acting, directing, sound effects, lighting, building set, collecting props and organising costumes or delivering flyers and posters as well as designing them... drop in and see them, have a look around, have a go, and see if you would be interested in becoming a Playgoer.
Sunday,May 14, 2017 at Blackfriars Arts Centre & Theatre, Boston. 11am to 4pm - drop in.
