Free family 'spectacular' this Sunday

This Sunday will be a little bit special in Boston Market Place - the Sunday Spectacular will fill the pedestrianised event area from noon to 3pm with a range of free activities from crafts and face painting to dance and theatre.

Transported, the Boston and South Holland arts organisation, has arranged a variety of captivating, imaginative performances and workshops to inspire all ages as part of the national Family Arts Festival and Big Draw campaigns.

All the family can join in the The Big Draw and contribute to a huge chalk drawing near the Ingram Memorial. Art work will be on display at St Botolph's Church (the Stump) from 1.30pm. Create beautiful crafts with Nadya Monfrinoli and have your face painted by Jo Hollingworth. See the amazing acrobatic stunts of the The Black Eagles and Corey Baker Dance's brilliant Phone Box performance.

Explore the world with HandMade Theatre and their Flying Machine or fall into the fantasies of Highly Sprung Performance Co's Travelling Treasury.

Don't forget to review Sunday Spectacular afterwards at www.familyartsfestival.com/event/Sunday_Spectacular!/8174 to be in with your chance to win an iPad Mini, £200 theatre tokens or a selection of best-selling family books.

More than a thousand people of all ages attended last year's Transported Family Arts Festival events in Boston.

FAMILY FUN FRIDAY

Don't miss the next Family Fun Friday in the Market Place on October 28 - to create paper birds to carry in this year's Illuminate 2016 Christmas parade. The first Illuminate parade last year was a huge success, helping mark the build-up to 2020 when the 400th anniversary of the Pilgrim Fathers sailing to America will be celebrated. Last year adults and children who took part in workshops carried their illuminated Pilgrims, fish and wave creations in the parade to the Market Place. The centrepiece was a giant model of the Mayflower.

This event takes place on Thursday, November 24, when a Christmas market will be held from noon, free entertainment from 3pm and the Christmas lights switch-on at 6.30pm.
